Ghetto Metal

If you saw my tweets last night then you know I went to see a show at SOB’s.  I had another post but the performances of Game Rebellion and Raye 6 were so good, all of you need to check them out.  Me and @Grand_Phee got there late and met up with @FollowFranz and @Hurryupnbuy.  The first acts we caught were Bizarre Royale Megabone.  Bizarre was cool, Megabone not so much. Then came Game Rebellion.  I’d heard of these cats while I was still in Buffalo, researching Afro Punk but the music on their MySpace can’t give you the full experience of the live show.  With a drummer, guitarist, bassist and keyboard player, Game Rebellion mixes punk, hip hop and electronic sounds to slap you in the face.  Here’s an example:

The place cleared out a little after their set, but those that stuck around weren’t disappointed with the closer, Raye 6.  The first time I saw her was at 92y Tribeca with her band (and her bubble blowing dancer duo) which was amazing.  She is sexy, and so are her dancers…and so was the girl they brought on stage to molest but I don’t feel bad in the least bit because she can sing her ass off.  And according to her EPK, she also produces, writes and she runs the business.  Like @Robfields said, she has a great sense of theater, warming you up, building anticipation and then…

…well, just watch for yourself:
